Walking Back from the Wheatfields, Van Gogh walks back from a day's painting, his world a juxtaposition of great beauty and great tragedy.
Gitano Blanco means 'White Gypsy' in Spanish. It was inspired by the flamenco culture which saturates Granada (Southern Spain).
Donna Donna is a Joan Baez Song, which tells the story of a calf in a slaughter wagon, oblivious to its impending execution. A swallow circles free overhead, and the winds laugh at the calf's fate. It is a song from my childhood which I recall my mother and sister singing.
Urgyen is the mythic birthplace of Padmasambhava, a deeply powerful Buddhist figure associated with meditating in cremation grounds alongside burning bodies, and striving vigourously towards liberation.
Big love and gratitude to Jose, Tommy Boy, Gelf, Gustav, T.B. and Fra for support and encouragement.
